What it does
An AI receptionist that answers the phone (a Twilio number) or replies in the browser, books appointments and speaks Italian (with a Milanese accent) and German. Everything runs locally on an Apple Silicon Mac with open-source models. It is a heavily rewritten fork of ai-caller-cosmio (Cosmio).
Highlights
- Listening with NVIDIA Parakeet v3, voice with Qwen3-TTS (a voice cloned from a sample), both local on MLX
- The “brain” is Claude Code or free services (Groq, Gemini, OpenRouter …), with automatic fallback to another provider
- First audio about 1.5 to 2.5 seconds after the caller finishes a sentence
- Admin panel: opening hours and real free slots, CalDAV calendars (Nextcloud, iCloud …) read and write, confirmation e-mail, Twilio number with the webhook connected automatically
- Import from the company website: the receptionist reads up to 30 pages and Claude builds the phone sheet from them
- Real-world example: set up and tested for a small business from its real website
