How it works
- WebhookYour click calls a webhook in n8n on my server.
- ISS positionn8n asks wheretheiss.at where the ISS is right now: latitude, longitude, altitude, speed and whether it is in sunlight.
- Place nameOpenStreetMap Nominatim tells us which country the ISS is flying over. No match? Then it is probably an ocean.
- Satellite imageNASA GIBS delivers the real satellite image of that spot (MODIS, Blue Marble at night).
- AI textAn AI model hosted at IONOS in Germany writes the card in your language, with a wink.
- DeliveryImage and text are stored, get a number and a link, and show up right here on the page.
So the ISS does not burn out: one card every 20 seconds for everyone together, and at most five per hour for you.
