What you can do
- First check whether the page loads at all, and test the app and online banking in the browser separately.
- During a supposed outage never enter TANs, passwords or codes on pages you reached through a link.
- Banks usually announce maintenance in online banking or in the app: look there.
- For urgent payments, use the branch or the card-blocking number printed on the card, not numbers from messages.
- Wait a few minutes and try again instead of logging in wrongly several times: that can lock your access.
How we measure
Every 5 minutes our server in Germany requests the public start page of Sparkasse. A service counts as “not reachable” only when two checks in a row fail. The measurement only shows whether the start page answers: single features, regions or the app can still be affected. This page is independent and has no connection to Sparkasse.
